Dr. Kenneth L. Grasso, Southwest Texas State University

Kenneth L. Grasso is professor of political science and director of the Project on American Constitutionalism at Texas State University-San Marcos. He formerly taught at St. Peter’s College and Fordham University. He received his Ph.D. from Fordham University where he studied under Francis Canavan, S.J. A specialist in political theory, he has edited three volumes on Catholic social thought: John Courtney Murray and the American Civil Conversation (Eerdmans, 1992), Catholicism, Liberalism and Communitarianism: The Catholic Intellectual Tradition and the Moral Foundations of Democracy (Rowman & Littlefield, 1995) and Catholicism and Religious Freedom: Contemporary Reflections on Vatican II’s Declaration on Religious Liberty (Sheed & Ward, 2006). His articles and reviews have appeared in First Things, The Catholic Social Science Review, The Journal of Catholic Social Thought, Faith and Reason, the Review of Politics and other journals, and he has published chapters in a numerous collections.
